The Assabet Patriots won the NEHL 2005 American Division Championship on Sunday after beating the NH Avalanche.  AJ Bongiorno scored the game winner with 41 seconds remaining in the third period which was tied at 2. Landan Resendes had two assists, one of which was on the game winner and Henry Cohen finished his phenomenal season with two goals and an assist.

With only one loss the entire season, finishing with a 29-1-2 record, the Patriots entered the playoffs as the hunted.  With that in mind, the players coached by Travis Tucker remained focused and were well prepared entering the weekend. After two hard fought battles they prevailed with a 6-3 win in the semifinal game and nail biter 3-2 victory for the Championship. Congratulations to the entire team and coaches for your great accomplishment.

The Assabet Valley 2004's posted an incredible record of 21-0-1 in the Mite Minor American Division this 2011-12 Season.  The 2004's averaged nearly 9 goals a game and only allowed 2.6 goals a game without a full time goalie.  They had the NEHL best RPI of 5.8.   Down the stretch everyone in the division was gunning to undo the undefeated season, getting great competition from the likes of the Boston Advantage, Boch Blazers, and New Hampshire Avalanche.  The 2004's won their first 14 league games before gaining a tie in game 15 with a late goal by the Boch Blazers on Christmas Eve.  Since the tie, the 2004's finished the season with 6 NEHL wins in a row.  The 2004's competed in the Elite Division in 3 tournaments. Each tournament pitted the 2004's against the best competition in the Northeast outside of the NEHL. They played against the Flames, Kings, Capitals, Breakers, and Bandits.  If you see the 2004's around the rink, give them a big high five for a great UNDEFEATED season! Congratulations to the 2004's; Sophie Ensley, Dane Carter, Jake Murphy, Andrew Welch, Mark Evangelous, Walker Pasalis, Henry Burnham, Thomas Argento, the 2005's; William Vote, Nolan Flynn, and Isaac Mitchell, the Coaches; Greg Carter, Kevin Flynn, and Murray Welch, and the friends and families who supported the kids!
